French Industry exhibits at the 2015 Taipei Cycle Show

13 French companies plan to exhibit at the next Taipei Cycle Show on 18-21 March 2015 in the Pavilion organised by BUSINESS FRANCE - the public body serving the international development of the French economy. For the 5th year in a row, French products will be featured in more than 250m2 of exhibition space at the Taiwan Trade Centre to enhance France's know-how.
The global cycle market represents nearly 60 billion euros each year. The French market of cycles, equipment and accessories which is growing annually by 3.1%, achieved total revenue of 1.502 billion euros at the end of 2013. French manufacturing in the sector employs 12,000 people, whose high value-added skills produce 630,000 bicycles a year. While France imported 2.3 million bicycles (283 million euros) in 2013, it exported 561,534 (117 million euros) and remains one of the pillars of the European cycle market. 300 bicycle brands are referenced in French territory, including 150 eBIKES (electrically-assisted bicycles) regularly used by 26 million cyclists.
The Taiwanese cycle industry stands out for its high-end segment of global bicycle and bicycle component manufacturing, dominated by Asian industry. With this specificity in mind, French manufacturers in the sector have developed particularly innovative offerings for these cycles as well as equipment and accessories: brakes, wheels, looks, pumps, helmets, jerseys, baskets and saddle bags. Annual French revenue from the sale of equipment and accessories exceeds 657 million euros, up by 8%.
Each year, manufacturers from every region of France come to present their latest products at the Taipei Cycle Show, an indispensable meeting place for the cycle industry. For two of them, this will be their first experience of the Show. Their technical expertise meets the extremely high standards of local demand, which is rapidly rising due to growing urban mobility and interest in cycles designed for sports and high-level competition. |
